At the Belgian HR Awards ceremony presented by Trends and Kanaal Z, Nextel bagged the HR Award for Internal Communication. The jury unanimously picked the ‘NForce Eachother’ campaign as the winner of this coveted title. The award comes with a cheque for EUR 33,500.
Nextel is the largest Belgian integrator in the field of ICT, operator and security solutions. With more than 10,000 customers in a variety of segments, such as SMEs, enterprise, government organisations, educational institutions and healthcare, Nextel is a major player in the Belgian market.
The company started out almost twenty years ago with eight employees and expanded into a successful organisation with a workforce today of over 380 people.
The celebrated ‘NForce Eachother’ campaign is part of the NForce 2020 plan with which Nextel is aiming to realise a number of ambitious objectives by 2020. This requires seamless internal collaboration. For this reason, every Nextel department is being given the opportunity to spend a week in the company’s spotlight, in the period from 2016 to 2018. This means that the teams get to know each other better: who they are, what they do, and what they expect from the other departments. This is all done in a fun way because a great atmosphere makes working together even more enjoyable.
“A growing company also faces challenges, such as: how can you make sure that all the departments stay aligned with each other?” says Ditke Van Goethem, HR Director. “The NForce Eachother project provides an answer in an original manner. The effort made by every team is hugely appreciated by the others, which promotes even more collaboration.” A proud CEO, Peter Roelens, confirms: “Winning this Belgian HR Award is a fantastic achievement by everyone at Nextel.”
The jury was impressed by the fact that the entire campaign is an initiative developed by Nextel staff for Nextel staff. “We particularly looked at the creativity, the innovative aspect and the huge involvement of everyone in this project,” explained Martin De Sutter, jury president. The award is therefore a fine reward for all the effort that the employees have made – and will continue to make over the coming years.
Incidentally, Nextel was heavily represented at the awards ceremony. The winners in the other two categories are also Nextel customers: UZ Brussel bagged the title of HR Pioneer in External Communications, while Sophie Streydio from Puratos was chosen as HR Manager of the Year. Nextel customers are clearly “Always one step ahead”, as Nextel promises in its mission.
